2010 Max Volley League Info

The 2010 Summer season will run from the week of May 16th through to August 9th. Playoffs (all teams qualify for playoffs) will follow and will run for 2 weeks. (no games May 23-24th, June 29th to July 2nd , no games Aug 1st and 2nd )
The start time is 6:30 sharp on a nightly basis; it is suggested that teams show up at least 15 minutes ahead of time in order to give themselves sufficient time to warm-up.
The west leagues play at the Bell Sensplex, the east leagues play at Shefford courts or St-Joseph courts depending on your tier. (there may be another location replacing the St-Joseph courts this year)
The 2010 Fall season will run from the week of Aug 23 to Sept 26 on the east courts. Playoffs will run the following week for 1 week. Start time will be 6:00pm.
Returning Teams Ranking Procedure
Returning teams (teams that have one player returning are considered returning teams), please indicate the overall spot you finished in the league last year. (not where you finished in playoffs or within your division) This will be available via a link on the register page -2009 league results- and have the rankings (1 through 120) posted next to your team name.
New Teams Ranking
For new teams, the categories are as follows:
AA- Intended for teams that have high level beach volleyball experience
A- Competitive
B- Intermediate
C- Recreational
New teams in the East league will be asked to play in a ranking tournament on May 15th (Men’s and Women’s 2s) and May 16th (Coed 2s). All other new teams will be placed in the league based on the category they have selected during registration. If you are not sure what category to choose please choose the lower one. Max Volley reserves the right to shift teams up or down a few tiers based on their results over the first 3 weeks of the season.
League Tiering
Once the season starts and teams have been placed in tiers based on the above, the tiering system will work as follows: Most tiers will be composed of three teams. These teams will play 2 sets to 21 against the other two teams in their tier. The team with the best results will move up one tier the following week, the second place team will remain in that tier, and the losing team will be bumped down one tier for the following week. NEW THIS YEAR: Captains will be asked to update their results on the website weekly as scheduling will be automated.
For the fall league, there will be 2 teams per court/tier. This way teams are always playing to get the most games in the daylight available.
Weather Policy
The league will be run rain or shine (unless there are thunderstorms or severe flooding). Please consult our weather page that will be available on the website to see if the league is cancelled for the night when there is inclement weather.
Registration Deadline
Early registration special: Register and pay before April 1st and pay 2009 prices.
The registration and payment deadline is May 1st, after this a 20$ late fee will apply. Spots in the league are first come, first serve, so make sure you sign up early!
For the fall league, registration deadline is August 1st.

Refund Policy
There are no refunds after the first league games. A 20$ admin fee will be incurred for a refund before the first league games.
